Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), with denominational offices in Louisville, Kentucky, has
approximately 2.4 million members, 11,100 congregations and 14,000
ordained and active ministers.
National Capital Presbytery
The National Capital Presbytery is comprised of over 36,000 people -- most of whom belong to one of 113 congregations, two missions, or five immigrant fellowships -- and spans seven counties in Virginia, four counties in Maryland, and the District of Columbia. Our community is rich in diversity in culture, race, age, theology, economy, and special interests. Because we are a connectional church, we are bound to all other congregations in our denomination by its organizational structure and its Book of Order. There are many aspects to this community of faith -- the congregations, the committees, the commissioners and the staff.
