 MaryAnn McKibben Dana, Pastor of Idylwood Presbyterian Church MaryAnn McKibben Dana began her time at IPC on October 18, 2009. She is a proud native Texan and a graduate of Rice University in Houston, where she majored in English. She received her M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA in 2003.While at Columbia MaryAnn served as student body president and received awards for preaching and academics. She was also a finalist for the national David H.C. Read Preacher/Scholar Award. From 2003-2009 she served as associate pastor of Burke Presbyterian Church, where she oversaw ministries ranging from adult education to small groups to evangelism. MaryAnn enjoys serving the larger church as a preacher and workshop leader. She has provided leadership for the Association for Presbyterian Church Educators’ conference and the women’s conference at Mo-Ranch in the Texas Hill Country. In 2004 she preached for 2,500 youth and adults at the Montreat Youth Conference. MaryAnn is also a poet and writer, and currently writes the monthly “Bible Explorations” column for Presbyterians Today.  The Dana family: MaryAnn, Robert, Caroline, Margaret and James MaryAnn is married to Robert Dana, who is an IT professional, and they are the proud parents of a “blessed trinity” of children: Caroline, 7; Margaret, 4; and James, 2. Robert is also an accomplished amateur chef, which MaryAnn enjoys greatly and lends support through her superior dishwashing skills. They enjoy travel and the outdoors, both as a couple and with the kids, and MaryAnn loves to read, write, and knit (when the children and cats let her). |
