Welcome and thank you for visiting Idylwood Presbyterian Church's website.  Idylwood is a small, vigorous congregation that has seen many changes just beyond the limits of our property but also within the congregation during our 90-plus years of ministry.  Where farms and dirt roads stood in the early days of this church, there are now burgeoning neighborhoods and high-rises and busy highways.

The members of this faith community come from all around the nation, and some have lived in many different parts of the world.  There is a palpable demonstration of affection and care among this diverse group of people that gets played out in times of obvious need such as illness or death, but also in ordinary day-to-day activities like baby-sitting for each other's children, social occasions in each others' homes, or sharing the bounties of summer gardens and meals out together.

On Sunday mornings, when we offer an invitation to visitors to become a part of this congregation, we often say that "we are not perfect people."  By that we mean that we are not two-dimensional, stained-glass saints, but rather men and women who share the same struggles and have the same questions as everyone else.  What we also have in common - in the midst of those struggles and questions - is the desire and the will to be followers of Jesus Christ. 

Come explore with us the pathway of following our Lord as we look forward to discovering together what truly brings about an abundant life.  We strive to be a faith community where all are welcome.  We'd love to have you join us in worship on Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. so that we can meet face-to-face; we'd be delighted to have you join us on other occasions - when we make sandwiches for homeless people, when we study together, or when we roll up our sleeves to carry out and to enhance the life of this community of God's people.  We look forward to meeting you!
